Whether Or Not A Subscription Is Needed To Use Blink Mini?

Blink makes interior, plug-in security cameras that may work with or without a subscription. Here is a brief tutorial on how to use these gadgets.
Prepare the camera

- Microphone Reset Button Night Vision (850nm) LED Green-Red LED Speaker
- The bundle includes the following extras:
- USB power supply
- AC adapter
- a camera rigs
- Attach fasteners
A Guide for Use
The effectiveness of a Blink Mini camera depends on how well it is installed. The accompanying mount screws and camera stand make it simple to install these gadgets anywhere you choose.
A slotted vertical bracket stand is another mounting option. The strong VHB tape it comes with means you won’t need to purchase any more adhesives or drill any holes. However, you shouldn’t use the bracket on freshly painted or wallpapered walls.
-
Set up the Blink Home Monitor.
The Blink Home Monitor app is available for download on iOS and Android devices, allowing you to take full control of your smart home from the palm of your hand. After that, sign up for an account. There is no longer a need to buy large displays when using this mobile app to view footage and add cameras.
-
Get Your Camera Online Via Wi-Fi
A Blink camera cannot be used unless it is linked to a Wi-Fi system. Certain versions of Blink are incompatible with others. When uploading photographs and notifications, three bars of connectivity are ideal.
To connect your Mini camera to the Blink app, tap the plus sign. Next, either enter the serial number manually or scan the QR code. After you’ve found your network, connect to it by clicking “Discover device.” The Sync Module and accompanying mobile app make it possible to relocate the camera to a new Wi-Fi network.
-
Enable Voice Commands
With an Alexa-enabled device, you can control your Blink camera just by speaking to it. Voice-activated interfaces like Apple’s Siri and Google’s Assistant are not compatible with the Mini.
-
Designate A Home-Based Data Repository
If you’d rather not upload your videos to the cloud, you may use a dedicated USB device instead. You may save a lot of footage from your cameras in this local storage.
-
Use a Third-Party Tool
Whether you save your Blink data on the cloud or your device, Sync Module 2 will coordinate it all. A USB disk between 1GB and 256GB in capacity may be used in its Type-A connector. While the Sync Module is recommended for use with the Blink Mini and Video Doorbell to maximize battery life, it is not required.
-
Always be updating your video files
Instead of having your camera’s data backed up automatically every day as with a Blink membership, you’ll need to attach the flash drive to Sync Module 2 and then carefully eject it before you can transfer the data to your computer.
Put the power cord in the wall outlet.
The Blink Mini is powered by batteries, which can be recharged by plugging in the AC charging cord. Its battery life is so long that charging it won’t be necessary for at least a year.
If your current power cord is damaged or too short, you may purchase a replacement.
Is a Blink Mini Camera Subscription Necessary to Use It?
If you’re OK with the bare bones of a camera, a Blink Mini membership isn’t necessary. Even though this smart gadget is affordably priced, you may save even more money by not signing up for a subscription plan.
Can we use Blink mini camera, without a subscription?
Without a service plan, how constrained is the functionality of a Blink Mini Camera?
While Blink Mini cameras without a subscription are dependable tools, the Blink Basic and Plans only provide access to a subset of the camera’s capabilities. These will let you use the gadget to its fullest potential.
The Basic Plan includes the following features for $3 per month or $30 per year:
- Streaming in real-time for a full 90 minutes
- Motion-activated cameras that capture and stream live video
- Up to 60 days of video playback history, with no limits

- Other Blink products bought via Amazon at a discounted price
- Warranty Extending Coverage
Video Clips Without a Blink Subscription: How to Download and Keep Them
You’ll need a flash drive and Sync Module 2 to save video clips for later viewing. Keep in mind that you’ll need to buy each of these items independently.
The number of videos you wish to save on the flash drive will determine how much space you need. Nonetheless, Sync Module 2 cannot read any files larger than 256 GB. There is USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 capability on the module.
You will be alerted if the content’s capacity is about to be reached. The disk will be formatted to “exFAT” if the current file system is incompatible.
