Delivered 

If the status is shown delivered below the message, it means the phone is properly working and the message has been their phone but they have not opened it yet. This status means that the phone is on because if the phone is dead or switched off then the delivered status would not appear. 

Read

This means that the receiver has received and seen your message. If they are not replying to your messages so they can be busy or intentionally ignoring you. It helps to identify the status of the user on iMessage. 

No Status 

If the message does not show that status of read or delivered it means that the receiver’s phone is off or out of battery. It happens because sometimes the phone is out of internet connection or turned off. The status remains blank until the phone is turned on again or connected to the internet. 

Step 2: Pay Attention to the Color of Message 

The color of the message bubble also helps to indicate the availability of the person. The iMessage usually appears in blue bubbles while regular text messages or SMS appear in green bubbles.

The iMessage appears in the blue bubble so that means the person’s phone is connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular Network and turned on. However if there is no status after sometime like read or delivered it means the person’s phone is turned off and disconnected from internet connection.

Regular SMS text messages appear in a green bubble which means they are not sent with an iMessage. It indicates that the person’s phone is off or they might be at a low network area. It shows that iMessage is not working on the person’s phone or they could possibly switch to a non-Apple device.

If a person usually responds quickly to your messages and now they are not replying at all, it could indicate that their phone is dead. However if a person usually takes a lot of time to reply to your messages then this doesn’t mean anything unusual.

Notice your conversation timing with the person like if they are replying continuously but suddenly they stop it means their name blue or they lose the internet connection. Moreover, if the gap between the conversation is consistent it could indicate that they might be busy or away from their phone.

Step 4: Check Read Receipts (If Available)

There is an option “read receipts” in the iMessages which is enabled by some users to let others know when they have read a message. If the person has enabled the option of right receipts and you don’t see any status on the message you sent, it means that their phone is turned off or dead.

If the person who you are trying to message is connected with another platform like Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp then try to message there. If you get a  response on the other app it means their iphone is maybe experiencing an issue or out of battery.

The other possibilities are that their phone may be dead or maybe they are in an area with poor signal quality or internet connection. Suppose if they reply on another app it could mean that they have a problem in only their iMessages and their phone is perfectly fine.

You can also check the person last seen on some apps like Facebook messenger and WhatsApp. If they are active recently on another app it could mean that their iMessage is not working properly but their phone is completely fine and on. 

It is simple to check the last seen of a person on WhatsApp. Just open your chat with the person and you can find a timestamp under their name like “last seen at” with the time. On Facebook messenger you can check the last seen by opening the chat with the person. 

Step 8: Wait for Sometime and Try Again 

If there is no status on your message and the person is not attending your calls, it is better to wait for sometime before trying again. They maybe ran out of the battery or in a no network location. Sometimes it happens that they charge their phone and the status of the message update to delivered. It indicates that their phone is dead that’s why they are not seeinh the message.
